Dewatering pumps sale aids humanitarian and development initiatives in Yemen

For many years, Khansaheb Sykes has taken great pride in helping to improve the well-being of Yemeni citizens by working alongside the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Revered as a national service provider, technical advisor and implementer of a wide range of lifechanging initiatives, UNOPS has led countless infrastructural and procurement schemes to stimulate sustainable development in emerging nations.

One of the more recent projects included the restoration and enhancement of Yemen’s water and sanitisation, which has been adversely affected as a result of the country’s international conflicts.

We subsequently received an urgent pump enquiry through our local Yemeni distributor – Aladimi Global for Trading & Contracting – who sought a dewatering solution.

Following a brief dialogue with the client, we arranged the sale of four Sykes GP200 pumps mounted on highway trailers. Each unit was powered by a Lister Petter water cooled engine, providing a robust and versatile option suitable for many pumping configurations.

This purchase is the initial gateway to a much larger order that is expected to be drawn up and completed over the coming months.

As a company, we look forward to continuing our work supporting the people of Yemen and offering our services to key organisations undertaking transformative operations on a significant scale.
