Deep Well Dewatering for Commercial Tower in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Abu Dhabi is known for its well-developed residential and commercial towers which reach the skies. Khansaheb Sykes was approached to support construction of a similar upcoming project by an efficient installation of a deep well dewatering system located at the prestigious Al Reem Island.

The construction area was spread across 155 linear meters which utilized a Diaphragm Wall shoring design. Our site engineers have strategically installed a series of 9 deep wells to prevent underground water from disturbing the construction site. The system was installed to enable excavation of up to 18.75 meters and lay out a strong foundation. read more

Deepwell Dewatering near the border of Dubai.

Khansaheb Sykes was approached to install a deepwell system for the construction of a new sea water intake pumping station near the border of Dubai, UAE.

The project required a pumping test to identify the actual soil properties to enable the calibration of the proposed dewatering system design and offer a more cost effective solution with strategically placed deep wells.

Khansaheb Sykes was approached to provide a dewatering solution to enable construction of 3 large villa’s and 1 guard room over an area of approximately 15,000m² located in Zabeel, Dubai.

The project was started during Mid-November’ 2013, when our first stage of wellpoints were successfully installed and the required drawdown was achieved, to permit installation of our second stage of wellpoints. Using our two stage system enabled us to ensure that the final working level remained fully dry permitting construction to proceed. read more

Khansaheb Sykes has been supporting the semi-constructed twin buildings in the emirate of Sharjah since 2009. Eighteen dewatering pumps have been functioning 24/7, 365 days continuously to support the buildings from any damages since the start of the project. Due to the downfall in the economy, the construction was halted by the contractors. It was essential that the dewatering system be kept running to avoid damage to the buildings.
