Khansaheb Sykes provides Emergency over-pumping for Sewage Network

Khansaheb Sykes was contacted by a site main contractor to provide emergency over-pumping so that vital maintenance of a sewage network could commence.

Our emergency response was to mobilise 2 of our Sykes 12” diesel dewatering pumps along with bunded fuel tanks and all associated accessories.

The Pentair 12” diesel dewatering pump has the capability of, maximum duty flow of 1450 cubic meters per hour & maximum duty head of 45m. This emergency over-pumping solution worked perfectly, with the contractor being able to carry out their maintenance works fault free – underling our ability as a pump hire specialist and being able to respond to any emergency. read more

Khansaheb Sykes deliver dewatering pumps in Abu Dhabi for Wellpoint Dewatering to allow infrastructure works to be excavated for a new city development.

Khanshaheb Sykes scope of work at the project was only to deliver dewatering pumps, as the main contractor was using a trenching machine as the dewatering solution at the project. Khansaheb Sykes to date have supplied in excess of 100 dewatering pumps to the project.

Khansaheb Sykes has been awarded the Dewatering Sub Contractor for the upcoming construction of Dubai’s newest Clean Coal Power Plant. The project is expected to last almost 4 years.
The engineers at Khansaheb Sykes, offered a dewatering solution of sump pumping using dewatering pumps, whereby an open pit was excavated and perforated steel wells installed protected by gravel filtration pack, to collect groundwater efficiently.

Due to the vast construction area, project has been split in smaller construction areas. Due to the depths of the excavations electric submersible dewatering pumps have been installed with operation being 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, construction areas are now completely dry and the contractors are progressing with the construction without any groundwater impediment or problems.

Abu Dhabi is known for its well-developed residential and commercial towers which reach the skies. Khansaheb Sykes was approached to support construction of a similar upcoming project by an efficient installation of a deep well dewatering system located at the prestigious Al Reem Island.

The construction area was spread across 155 linear meters which utilized a Diaphragm Wall shoring design. Our site engineers have strategically installed a series of 9 deep wells to prevent underground water from disturbing the construction site. The system was installed to enable excavation of up to 18.75 meters and lay out a strong foundation. read more
