Khansaheb Sykes teams up with Dubai’s RTA on internal roads project

With the high-profile construction of new internal roads in Nad Al Sheba 2 making good progress, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has turned to Khansaheb Sykes to assist with the laying of stormwater drainage pipeline.

The infrastructural development has been commissioned with the intention of easing traffic flows and improving road safety, with work officially beginning towards the end of last year.

New connecting roads are currently being built to serve the entire area, with two new entry/exit points for Al Manama and Nadd Al Hamar Streets due to enhance links with the rest of the neighbourhood. read more

The UAE is currently enjoying a four-day public holiday commemorating the country’s historic Golden Jubilee, with National Day on 2 December marking 50 years since the Emirates were founded.

Celebrations will begin with Commemoration Day today, prompting a number of festivities and special events to acknowledge the landmark anniversary.

Generational construction project reliant upon expertise of Khansaheb Sykes

The $1.37billion Shindagha Corridor is a five-phase project currently being undertaken by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority. Aimed at improving various local roadways in the heart of the city, the development is expected to be completed in 2025.

The construction of a new underpass has now reached a critical stage, with a series of perimeter deep wells recently put in place to help tackle the presence of groundwater on site.

A number of Khansaheb Sykes engineers have assisted this process, recommending and installing a complex pumping arrangement to enable safe excavation. We also considered the need to remove groundwater pressure on the back side of a watertight cofferdam, providing greater stability for the shoring system. read more

Last month, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) contacted us looking to buy a pump that could be used as a dewatering mechanism as and when required.

We proposed a Sykes hydraulic submersible unit complete with an H100S wet end, highlighting some of the benefits offered by this particular pump. Often used as an alternative to diesel driven pumps, this Hydraset is ideal for locations where a power source is unavailable or where low noise operation is essential. read more
