Excavations are necessary for construction of firm foundations for the buildings. Deep excavations are very challenging as groundwater is prone to become an obstruction during the excavation progress.

When a leading contractor in Abu Dhabi was looking for a perfect dewatering sub-contractor for controlling ground water for the construction of a highrise building where an excavation of over 20 meters was required, Khansaheb Sykes was approached to control the water levels.

Never underestimate the force of nature!!

Khansaheb Sykes was contacted by a site main contractor to provide emergency over-pumping due to a breach of the sea defence wall that caused flooding to their prestigious project.

Our on – site dewatering team were already on the project maintaining a running dewatering system, they carried out an initial survey of the breach enabling our transport department to deliver an immediate pump hire solution to over-pump the flooded area.

Our emergency response was to mobilise our Sykes 12” diesel dewatering pumps and Sykes MH200 dewatering pumps along with bunded fuel tanks and all associated accessories. read more

Deep Well Dewatering activities so that excavation can commence for the installation of pipes for a newly expanded Sewage Treatment Plant. Great job by all involved within the project due to the Ground conditions at the project site meant that a deep well dewatering design followed by the installation of a French Drain system below the final excavation was the only dewatering solution available.

Khansaheb Sykes Design Team and operational staff worked extremely hard to install and maintain this bespoke dewatering solution to ensure we maintained a dry site at the project. read more

Wellpoint Dewatering Drilling Machines working in unison

Khansaheb Sykes, the UAE’s longest and most established Dewatering Solutions provider and Ground Water Control Specialist was recently awarded a dewatering project which consists of Wellpoint Dewatering for approximately 30km.

Due to the eagerness to commence dewatering activities, 3 drilling machines were utilised at the project and due to the ground conditions 2 pneumatic drill heads and 1 conventional drilling auger were mobilized.

Khansaheb Sykes’ unique straight mast design allows drilling to a depth of 7.5mts in one continuous movement. read more

Khansaheb Sykes provide sewage over-pumping solution for local Municipality

Khansaheb Sykes was approached by a local water treatment service and supplies company to help assist with the over-pumping for a sewer network for a local municipality.

Before work could take place, our engineers surveyed the site to enable us to provide an immediate pump hire solution to over-pump the network.

Our response was to propose the pump hire of our newly fleeted 12” diesel dewatering pump. We also provided a separate fuel tank to enable continuous running of the dewatering pump.

The Pentair 12” diesel dewatering pump has the capability of maximum duty flow of 1450m3/hr & maximum duty head of 45m. read more
