The $1.37billion Shindagha Corridor is a five-phase project currently being undertaken by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority. Aimed at improving various local roadways in the heart of the city, the development is expected to be completed in 2025.
The construction of a new underpass has now reached a critical stage, with a series of perimeter deep wells recently put in place to help tackle the presence of groundwater on site.
A number of Khansaheb Sykes engineers have assisted this process, recommending and installing a complex pumping arrangement to enable safe excavation. We also considered the need to remove groundwater pressure on the back side of a watertight cofferdam, providing greater stability for the shoring system.
