Wellpoint Dewatering and Groundwater ControlNo other provider in the UAE and Gulf States has as much expertise as Khansaheb Sykes in wellpoint dewatering and deep well groundwater control ,with equipment and services for both hire and sale of centrifugal pumps and bore hole deep well pumps. You may have the best-run site but, without efficient groundwater control, you can soon get bogged down in costly and uncomfortable problems, with serious implications for the project and for Health and Safety. That’s where we come in. With so many excavations reaching below the water table, our powerful diesel centrifugal dewatering pumps and deep well bore hole pumps and proven services help you to control and remove subsurface water quickly and effectively. Our ground water reduction capabilities have been tried-and-tested many times in the harsh climatic and our adopted wellpoint dewatering pumps are well adapted for the saline water conditions found in this region. Simply contact us to discuss any well point dewatering and deep well dewatering requirements you may have. Wellpointing Dewatering
Wellpoint Dewatering Closed Ring Installation When you need to excavate below 7-9 metres in water-bearing aquifer, we can install a multi-stage system of wellpoint dewatering.
Wellpoint Dewatering Progressive Line Installation Designed for pipelines and other similar applications, a progressive or roll along dewatering approach is installed alongside the route, preceding excavation and pipe laying. Equipment from a previously completed and backfilled section is installed at the head of the line, removing the need for large quantities of equipment.
Wellpoint systems are employed primarily to lower groundwater levels around foundations to provide stable working conditions. A wellpoint system consists of a closely spaced series of small-diameter shallow wells. [The wellpoints are connected to a common headermain in which a partial-vacuum is created. One high-efficiency vacuum dewatering pump typically operates 100m or more of wellpoints. For drawdowns in excess of 6m, further stages of wellpoints are installed at successively lower levels as excavation proceeds.] Wellpoints are particularly effective for where a relatively modest drawdown is required in a wide range of soils from gravel through to silty fine sand. Rapid and cost-effective wellpoint installation may be achieved in sandy soils by jetting using high-pressure water; drilling installation may be necessary in coarse or cohesive soils. Jetting promotes good hydraulic connection and allows the placement of a granular filter pack that enhances performance in stratified fine soils. WellPoint Dewatering SystemsA wellpoint dewatering system is the oldest pratical method of dewatering dating back to the early 1920’s. Conceptually, the well point system has not changed since its inception, basic components are a well point pump, header pipes and the well points themselves. The wellpoint pump is tied into a level header manifold that runs alongside the excavation. The header pipe applies the vacuum to a series of individual wellpoints and conveys the water lifted from the wellpoints to the pump. Wellpoints are in essence, well-like devices constructed with a screen intake and usually a filter pack, which draws the water from the ground by the suction generated by the pump. Wellpoints are generally small diameter, although not always. A wellpoint dewatering system may consist of only a handful of wellpoints or too many thousands with multiple pumps. These systems are very common in the dewatering industry. Wellpoints are customarily installed around the entire perimeter of the excavation. They may be installed within an excavation or outside the excavation if excavation is relatively shallow. Open DewateringOpen dewatering systems enable one to lower groundwater table adequately in cohesive and low permeable soils. Water is pumped off directly from sumps (ditches) along the toes of the slopes of the excavation works. The suction hose with strainer is merely placed in the sump and the collected water is primed and discharged. This makes the open dewatering system easy to install and simple to operate. The open dewatering system utilizes self priming or vacuum assisted centrifugal pumps the Sykes GP range of pumps are ideally suited for this application. Wellpoint DewateringWellpoint dewatering systems enable one to lower the groundwater table adequately for deep and large construction sites. It has proven to be a very flexible system. The water from high permeable soils is pumped from wellpoints, installed along the trench of the site. The wellpoints are jetted and spaced to obtain an efficient drawdown against lowest capacity. The wellpoints with integral strainers are joined to transparent flexible hoses, which are connected by quick release couplers to the ring main header pipe. Wellpoint dewatering is done either by gravity or vacuum. The wellpoint dewatering system utilizes self-priming or vacuum assisted centrifugal pumps, the Sykes GP range of pumps are ideally suited for this application.
